HeLen Walker has suffered a stroke

Nancy Hardaway reports that HeLen Walker suffered a serious stroke on Friday. She and Leo are at their Colorado residence. HeLen and Leo had plans to return to Nashville soon, however now they must wait until HeLen is able to make the trip by car. HeLen's doctor is concerned that flying could aggravate her condition.

HeLen and Leo's Colorado mailing address is:

78 Fireweed Ct.
Tabernash, Colorado, 80478

HeLen and Leo have been devoted Germantown neighbors, and they continue to work to enhance our community. They deeply deserve our love and support.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR HOMEWORK HELP AT THE NORTH BRANCH OF THE LIBRARY

The Nashville public library offers homework helpers at several branches, including the North Branch. All you need to be a homework helper is knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and internet research skills. Because you'd be working with kids the library needs to do a background check and they also ask that you commit to volunteer for at least 50 hours in a year to recoup the background check costs. The homework helper hours at North Branch are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-7 pm. You don't need to be there every week - if you could come just twice a month you could really help. If you're interested, contact the library volunteer coordinator Christine McMeans at 862-5754. They also need helpers for other days and times at other library branches, so if another area would be more convenient for you, give Christine a call to talk about it.
