This year's Incredible Baby Shower will provide pregnant and parenting teens and adult moms a connection to FREE resources to help insure that mom and baby are healthy, and stay healthy from pregnancy to early child development.
The Incredible Baby Shower will feature presentations and topics concerning labor and delivery, newborn care and parenting, healthy lifestyles, and pre-natal care.
This year's event will be held at the Curb Event Center at Belmont University, 2002 Belmont Blvd. on October 4th from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The Incredible Baby Shower is open to women participating in WIC and TENNCare; uninsured women; pregnant high school teens; Metro Public Health Department volunteers; community agencies; local consultants, members of the faith-based communities; corporate sponsors; and community partners.
Event sponsors include the Metro Public Health Department, March of Dimes, Tennessee State University, Belmont University, various vendors, and various community agencies that provide services for infants, children, and youth.
Event sponsors hope to:
* Increase knowledge and education regarding infant mortality
* Increase knowledge and education regarding community resources (EMS; parenting resources)
* Increase knowledge and education regarding what it means to have a healthy pregnancy
* Increase knowledge and education regarding infant health
* Provide networking opportunities and support for parenting/pregnant adults and teens
