Mayor Purcell's State of Metro Address
Mayor Bill Purcell will deliver his final State of Metro Address Thursday, May 24 at 8 a.m. on the lawn of Nashville’s new Public Square Park. The event is free and open to the public.
This will be the first State of Metro Address delivered at the Public Square. Seating will be provided under a large tent on the lawn in the center of the Square. Breakfast refreshments will be available. Meigs Middle School Choir will perform along with the combined Police and Fire Color Guard.
For more than 40 years, Nashville's mayors have reported on the priorities of the city in annual addresses. Last year, Purcell addressed a crowd of more than 1,000 at the Nashville Convention Center.
