"Jazz at the Workshop", April 8th
Jazz Workshop have their biggest event of the year on April 8th all day long.
From Jazz Workshop:
Jazz at the Workshop starts at 9:00 AM with registration, coffee, and pastries and at 9:30 AM we have classes, performances and sessions that last for the entire day. Two local high schools, Hume Fogg and Nashville School of the Arts will be featured. All of the classes during the daytime will be for musicians and non-musicians alike.
Our special guests this year are jazz legends, Ed Thigpen (original drummer with the Oscar Peterson Trio) and saxophonist Houston Person (originally with Etta Jones). They will be doing clinics during the day as well. This great day will be topped off with a all-star performance at the Belcourt Theatre with Ed and Houston with the Lori Mechem trio at 8pm.
This is a huge event for our community and our neighborhood restaurants have all agreed to participate in the lunch portion.
